Spoofs “Got Milk” Commercial

This is one of the “Got Milk?” commercial put on by the milk advertising companies. This form of advertisement purpose is to spoof major league baseball’s steroid abuse scandal, and to help increase the sales of milk that where down during the time the commercials aired in live television. Milk is trying to compare itself to anabolic steroids as a performance enhancing supplement which can have the same positive effects as taking anabolic steroids. They show off Milk as being a better alternative and legal to the public in contrast to steroids. The fact that they use baseball in there commercial is attributing to positive benefits to all athletes.

  1. I think the commercial is cute, but very controversial. The purpose/ intent of the commercial is pretty evident. The only thing is its affirming that steroids does do the body, just as good as milk….I’m going to guess the target audiences of the commercial are men…men who play sports or men who are too cheap or poor to afford steroids or….

    • Yeah that exactly the same way I see it they are comparing milk to be an alternative for steroids. But I dont know who in there right mind will actually believe that milk can actually do what the commercial is implying it can do.

  2. Haha! Good blog! I believe the Milk advertising did a good job. I believe this will appeal to many people. It was good how they used the milk like it was a type of steroid.

    • It appeals to many people in different ways not all being positive. However I think it is misleading because there is no way milk can do all it claim it can, they are just trying to make their product seem as an incredible supplement. When in reality is not.
